Update 7/15 1pm: Little Inch Boy was a rather interesting interpretation of the Japanese tale Issunboshi written by a 16 year old boy. She set up a camera with both a monitor below and a projector behind it. She was extremely brief. However, we did not have a great scheduling of them. Who ever thought putting a show with lullaby in the name right after lunch was a good idea was…wrong. It was a lovely SHADDOW show with SOFT music, SMOOTH transitions and GENTLE colors…and as a lullaby—it sure worked on me. It was a good show too and I really wish I remembered more of it. I made it by hand like I did all my other swazzles and like all my other swazzles, its sound is unique.  So unique, in fact, that I tie each one together with a different color string so I can tell them apart.   This one was my first and most successful swazzle—it is tied with pink thread. First I take a toilet paper roll and cut it in half and up the side.  I reduce the circle of the tube down so it fits over my thumb and my last two fingers together on my right hand and tape it in place.  I flatten the top and add a piece of cardboard cut in a mitten shape.  I add a little bulk with masking tape. Boy am I rushing ahead of myself!  Look, there I go...There is a trick to this, which I learned at the Puppet Rampage...the back of one's hand needs more space than the front.  Who knew? Metal hands...Terminator Oni!This was another trick I learned from Brian Kooser.  Start with metal...he often uses a thin wire to begin, and I was going to as well. But I couldn't find my wire, so I grabbed the tinfoil. Cover it with masking tape and use that to flesh it out a bit more.Then you add the papier-mache layers.
